Amateur Rider Development


This course is designed for Amateur jockeys who would like to develop and improve their race riding technique

It’s a week long residential course designed to help current riders who hold either their Category A Amateur Riders permit or Point to Point Licence, develop their skills as a rider, and get some professional tuition. The course includes:

Schooling sessions / stalls sessions
Video analysis
Simulator training, pushing technique and correct use of the whip
Fitness assessment and advice
Diet and nutrition advice
Fall training
Sports psychology

Course requirements

To take this course you must hold a Category A Permit

Point to point riders may be accepted subject to references, however. You must also be fully fit and carrying no injuries.

Course Costs


The cost for this course covers accommodation, meals, tuition and course materials.
