About the Course

The Regional Staff Development Programme in delivering

Racing Coach Qualification in Newmarket this May

Who is eligible and what is included:

  • Any senior member of racing staff or anyone with proven experience in the racing industry can apply
  • Those who have a passion to support and develop staff within their team
  • Three qualifications gained during training – First Aid, Safeguarding and Level 1
  • Coaching certificate
  • Varied learning (CPD) opportunities
  • Employers can nominate a potential coach
  • Training is funded with a returnable deposit
  • Residential courses provide subsidised accommodation
  • First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications are fully funded

A senior member of a racing yard can train as a Level 1 Rider Coach and then return to work and support the other riders to learn and develop. We believe there are many benefits from this but the main ones being that the employee taking the qualification feels valued and trusted and the young employees in need of assistance with their riding will be supported in their own yard.

The Regional Staff Development Programme can also offer work rider training at your yard. For more information contact Sam Trainor at the NHC.
