Best Turned out competition and congratulations goes to Taylor, Jessica and Sophie with Roc Astrale (1st picture). It was a tough decision today because they all look great (2nd-4th pictured respectively). The aim of the Best Turned Out competition is a bit of fun towards the end of the Foundation Course bringing together all the skills the trainees will need in their jobs to get a horse ready for the races.

Upsides!
This morning our trainees on the straight gallop have been practicing riding upsides. This is harder than it looks, especially if your horse is competitive, but it is common practice and needs to be learned ready for the workplace.
You can watch our trainees live on Thursday morning via our VIRTUAL OPEN DAY on Facebook. Link in bio @careersinracing @racinggroom

Our “remainers” course (those who graduated during lockdown so stayed with us) have had a morning of 2 halves… First up e-learning on the @britishhorseracingauthority Racing2Learn website, followed by an amazing opportunity to take some of our horses for a spin up the Al Bahathri gallop. Thank you @thejockeyclub

We still have students on site who are in lockdown with us, but it’s business as usual as far as teaching and training is concerned, and that includes their 3 times a week fitness sessions!

Again, this is 4 minute exercise to score 100%. If you don’t have any wobble cushions try anything that is small and unstable, the idea is that your core strength needs to engage and keep you static.
Good luck!
Tag us in your photos and we’ll share your alternatives to the wobble cushions
