Course Overview

Experience life in a working yard

The Ground Based Yard Staff Course is available to anyone who is keen to work in racing but doesn’t want to ride.

The course is fully residential and run over six weeks. During this time you will be cover how to muck out, tack up horses, travel horses, use horse walkers, drive tractors, first aid training, feeding and horse health. You will also be taken several trips out during the program to complement the course. Following completion of your course we will assist in you in finding employment in a racing yard.

Course Requirements

No experience is necessary for this course

However, you will need to have a love of horses, enjoy working outdoors and have a keen interest in finding out what it’s like to work in a racing yard.

Course cost

FREE

This course is free but we require a refundable £50 deposit from each candidate.
