The Whirling Dervish
Is it possible to feel sad and happy at the same time? That’s how we felt on the 9th June when 23 year old The Whirling Dervish headed off to his retirement home.
“Whirly” as he was affectionately known was presented to us 13 years ago as a 10 year old who had already ran in 71 races and won 6 of them for trainer Tim Easterby.
So having looked after 1000’s of trainees over his 13 year stint with us he deserves a long happy retirement in a field.
Instructor Miss De Souza who rode a “keen” Whirly when she was a trainee took the “lovely boy” on his first trip in a horsebox for 13 years to his new home where he’ll be cherished.
