Racing Secretaries Course

Course Overview

This course has been created for secretaries new to racing and anyone considering working in this role

It provides knowledge of the role of a racing secretary and is run over three days, with speakers ranging from organisations such as the International Racing Bureau (IRB), the National Trainers Federation (NTF), the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Weatherbys. An experienced and well established racing secretary will give a practical insight into fulfilling this demanding role.

It will cover:

The Structure of Racing
Health and Safety – BHA Red Book explained
NTF Employment Guide, The NASS/NTF Agreement and Racing Administration
BHA – The Rules of Racing
Weatherbys involvement with racing
International Racing Bureau
General Payroll
Transport Qualifications explained
European Breeders Fund

Course Requirements

No previous experience is necessary

An interest in working in this environment is a must however!

Course costs

£250

The cost of this course covers all material used, tuition and lunch. B&B accommodation can also be provided at an additional cost of £35 per night.
