Mia Lennon de Marco Wins 2025 Twelve Club Award

The British Racing School is delighted to announce Mia Lennon de Marco as the winner of this year’s Twelve Club Award, recognising the trainee who has shown outstanding progress, dedication, and professionalism.

Before joining the racing industry, Mia competed successfully in show jumping and worked in a show jumping yard. Whilst this was an experience that nearly put her off horses altogether, she was encouraged by her father, who knew racing offered a better working environment, career structure and wages, and conditions, so Mia subsequently chose to continue her equestrian career with a move into the racing industry, and a Foundation Course (385) at BRS.

Throughout her time at the School, Mia was a quiet, considerate, and exceptionally capable rider. She is naturally gifted with horses, consistently positive, and always willing to put in the hard work. Her supportive attitude and readiness to help others made her a valued member of her cohort. These values have been carried into her work placement at Highclere, where she works for trainer Andrew Balding, himself a 12 Club Member.

Course instructor Lydia de Souza says “Mia was a fantastic foundation course student, she stood out for her unwavering positivity and can do attitude. Mia always relished challenges and was a positive influence on her peers. In particular, Mia was showed enthusiasm and care towards her horses and this has undoubtedly set her up well for her apprenticeship.

Although Mia has no ambitions to race ride, she hopes to take on more travelling roles in the future, where her skill and calm professionalism will be great assets. You can hear more from her here.

We are proud of everything Mia has achieved during her racing career so far, and look forward to following her continued success.

Congratulations Mia!
