Champions Day
Two BRS Graduates are crowned Champions
We’re over the moon and very proud to call Oisin Murphy and Cieran Fallon Graduates of the British Racing School as their hard work paid off this weekend when they were crowned Champion Flat Jockey and Champion Apprentice 2019.
To make the story even more inspiring, Cieran, son of Champion Jockey Kieran Fallon, had never sat on a horse before attending the 14 week Foundation Course in 2016 (course 305), so in just under 3 years he’s taken himself to the top. This requires support from others but is ultimately down to hard work and determination, so well done Cieran, it’s thoroughly deserved.
Oisin has also worked hard aftermaking a big move over to England as 16 year old boy to work for Andrew Balding. He attended the 4 week course, as he had lots of experience of racing in Ireland, and then returned on his licence course where Jockey Coach Richard Perham spotted his potential, and his end of course report read:
“This doesn’t happen that often, but I would compare Oisin with the likes of Luke Morris, Andrea Atzeni, Adam Beschizza and William Buick at the same stage of their careers. Oisin, if he wants has a wonderful opportunity and should make the most of it.”
Congratulations to Cieran and Oisin. We look forward to seeing your careers progress further.
