Fun had by all at
Summer Camp!
After Covid put a halt to our Pony Racing training and residential camps in 2020 we were delighted to be able to host the action packed camp again this summer.
The week long residential course for 11 – 15 year olds, who bring their own ponies for the duration too, took place last week and great fun was had by all.
Throughout the week the young riders and their ponies are put through their paces on the gallops, as well as receiving simulator tuition, practical lessons on all things pony racing and lots of visits.
This group were treated to a tour of Heath House Stables by Sir Mark Prescott, a visit to the Newmarket gallops and a trip to the National Horseracing Museum.
The Thursday evening Mounted Games is always a very memorable experience, and this year the two team captains were professional jockeys David Egan and Grace McEntee, and is was David’s team who took the win.
Friday morning saw the return of Grace McEntee to ride up the straight gallops alongside each young jockey, before their Best Turned Out competition on Saturday morning and prize giving for the week.
The prizes for the week are very kindly sponsored by Gibson Saddlery, BEquestrian, PC Racewear, Weatherbys and Tattersalls.
