Level 1 Rider Coaching Programme

Rider Coaches
Level 1 Rider Coaching Qualification
The Racing Foundation are supporting the British Racing School and Northern Racing College, in delivering a Rider Coaching Programme in Newmarket this spring, which will then be rolled out in additional areas later in the year.

The concept was trialled successfully last year in Middleham and as a result we can now offer 8 places here. The idea is that someone in a senior position in a yard can train as a Level 1 Rider Coach and then return to work and support the other riders to learn and develop. We believe there are many benefits from this but the main ones being that the employee taking the qualification feels valued and trusted and the young employees in need of assistance with their riding will be supported in their own yard.
The training shouldn’t interrupt the daily yard routine as the six sessions will run during lunchtimes. As places are initially limited to 8 then we will need to interview all candidates to ensure commitment to the programme and we will ask for a refundable bond of £100, there are no other costs for this course. Please find an application form here which should be completed and returned to us soon as possible as we are planning to have interviews on March 11th.
