Licencing Courses taking place this spring

We have two very important courses for aspiring jockeys starting over the next month.
The first is for anyone wanting to get their Conditional Jockey licence. This is an essential qualification for jockeys who wish to ride in the jumps. It starts on 25th Feb and lasts for two weeks.
Then in March we will be running a two week licence course for Apprentice Jockeys. This will begin on 18th March.
These courses are designed to ensure applicants have all the skills they need to ride under Rules, safely and competitively, as well as being an ambassador for the racing industry. They will test the knowledge, skills, and fitness of potential jockeys to check whether they will be able to meet the exacting demands of horseracing.
Applicants for both the Conditional Jockey licence and the Apprentice Licence will be confident and competent when it comes to galloping a racehorse at speed, riding work on a racehorse, and jumping a racehorse over hurdles and fences.
Without having the correct licence, jockeys won’t be allowed to compete.
If you wish to take part in one of these courses please speak to your Trainer as they must apply on your behalf. Full details for the Apprentice Course are here, and the Conditional Course here.
