Ofsted have given The British Racing School an Outstanding rating – the highest grade achievable.
The award comes after Ofsted visited us in November. Inspectors spent four days with us, examining all aspects of The British Racing School, and speaking to staff, parents and students.
This makes us the only Grade 1 Outstanding provider of our type in the Eastern Region, and as the leading provider of training for young people entering the racing industry we are delighted to be recognised in this way.
The report singled out our teachers and instructors, saying they provide highly effective feedback to learners, make use of high-quality resources so learners are exceptionally well prepared for employment, and inspire learners, trainees and apprentices.
Inspectors saw that learners and apprentices quickly acquired extremely high levels of practical skills with horses, and excellent personal, social and employability skills.
They also praised our highly effective partnerships with the horseracing industry which ‘ensure that most learners and apprentices secure successful careers within horseracing.’
The report is extremely pleasing, and is recognition of the hard work put in at all levels of The British Racing School. Our mission statement is to provide a range of training of the highest standard to meet the needs of the racing industry, and to meet the needs of our learners. This ‘Outstanding’ rating is proof that we are successfully achieving this, which is fantastic for every BRS student, now and in the future!
